Within my practice I focus on producing spiritual fluid paintings, using various pouring mediums on a variety of surfaces to create pour and drip fluid art. These are inspired by a diverse assortment of crystals that I own and the properties or characteristics that they hold. Due to health problems and being in hospital a lot within my last year of university I found myself using my artist practice as a form of pain management, incorporating how I felt in my work. This then influenced a change in the focus of my work to how an artist's practice may provide strategy to pain management and how I may display this in my artwork.
In my practice I take time to meditate on what I am feeling before beginning a painting, then allow myself to express and illustrate this through manipulating the paints around the canvas. I feel that the colours, patterns and textures I use provide a visual representation of what I was feeling the day of producing the painting.
